AMENDING THE FY 94-95 CAPITAL BUDGET TO
AUTHORIZE FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,000 FROM
THE ENGINEERING SERVICES FACILITY
(STREET/SOLID WASTE FACILITY) FOR PRE -
CONSTRUCTION COSTS RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A NEW FIRE STATION NO. 7; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
Whereas, a new fire station needs to be constructed to replace
the existing Fire Station No. 7 and such new station is to be
available for occupancy by November 15, 1995; and
Whereas, to accomplish construction of this new fire station
in a timely fashion, it is proposed to advance pre -construction
funding from the Engineering Services Facility (Street/Solid Waste
Facility) project previously programmed in the Public Health &
Safety Bond Fund.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the FY 94-95 Capital Budget is amended to
authorize funds in the amount of $28,000 from the Engineering
Services Facility (Street/Solid Waste Facility) for pre -
construction costs related to the construction of a new Fire
Station No. 7.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency
due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient
and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /0 day of

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter
rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
