HomeMy WebLinkAbout022140 ORD - 01/17/1995ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 9, AVIATION, ARTICLE 11, MUNICIPAL AIRPORTS, SECTION 9-63 TO ADD AN ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE FOR THE AIRPORT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES ASSESSED FOR VIOLATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 9, Aviation be amended to add Section 9-63. Animal Control. as follows: Sec. 9-63 Animal Control. No person shall enter the terminal building or landing area of the Airport with a dog or other animal. It shall be a defense to prosecution that : a) the animal was assisting a disabled person; b) the animal was being shipped on an air carrier and was restrained by a leash or certified air shipment container; or c) the animal is a certified law enforcement canine. SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 3. Violation of this Animal Control Ordinance may result in citations being issued and fines being assessed.
