WHEREAS, some of the surrounding property owners expressed concern over the zoning
of the area being retained for Fire Station No. 7; and
WHEREAS, the current City Council is adamant about the retained property being zoned
R -1B to buffer and protect the neighborhood;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does not intend to change the zoning of Hopper
Addition, Unit 2, Block 8, Lot 17-C from the current "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District.
SECTION 2. That the City Council directs staff to design the new fire station facilities to
protect surrounding residential properties.
SECTION 3. That the City Council urges future city councils to continue the policy of
protecting the surrounding residential properties and maintaining the present zoning classification.
