HomeMy WebLinkAbout022185 RES - 03/21/1995RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND SUBMISSION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION OF A PUBLIC WORKS APPLICATION PERTAINING TO THE PROPOSED NEW CORPUS CHRISTI FACTORY STORES PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi City Council has authorized the execution of contracts to accomplish the construction of a factory outlet center, followed by construction of a first class municipal golf course and a first class private Recreational Vehicle Park, on Interstate Highway 37 in the northwest area of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, completion of the factory outlet center requires reversal of the existing access ramps on IH 37 and completion of all the projects requires the construction of City water and wastewater lines; and WHEREAS, completion of the factory stores project will be of substantial economic benefit to the Corpus Christi area, and completion of the golf course and RV Park will provide further economic benefit; and WHEREAS, the City needs financial assistance to carry out the factory stores project and the related projects, and the United States Economic Development Administration has funds available to assist local communities with such projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and submit to the United States Economic Development Administration a public works application pertaining to the proposed new Corpus Christi Factory Stores Project.
