APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $64,652
FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR
CLINICAL HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES
DURING THE PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1,1994 TO AUGUST 31,
1995; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 021997, WHICH
ADOPTED THE FY 1994-95 BUDGET, BY ADDING $64,652
TO THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND -
HEALTH DEPARTMENT; ADDING THREE FULL-TIME
EQUIVALENTS TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $64,652 from the
Texas Department of Health for clinical health and family planning services during the period
September 1, 1994 to August 31, 1995.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 021997, which adopted the FY 1994-95 budget, is
amended by adding $64,652 to the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund -Health Department.
SECTION 3. That the number of full-time equivalents for the Health Department is
increased by three.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as

Increase in direct assistance due to all state paid positions transfered from
Attachment 05000135-09. Increase in direct assistance due to conversion of
Nurse II, CF309-4385 @ $2 289. per mo. eff 9-1-94, CSA II CF309-5502 @ $1,122
per mo., eff 12-01-94 & CSMA II CF309-5502 @ $1,122 per mo., eff. 10-01-94
and fringe benefits for these positions.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter
rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
