HomeMy WebLinkAbout022241 ORD - 05/23/1995AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,746.00 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, TO CONDUCT A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAFFIC FLOW STUDY IN NUECES COUNTY FOR EMERGENCY PLANNING, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 021997, WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 1994-95 BUDGET, BY ADDING $5,746.00 TO THE LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE (LEPC) FUND NO. 107-223-750.01; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $5,746.00 from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, to conduct a hazardous materials traffic flow study in Nueces County for emergency planning. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 021997, which adopted the FY 1994-95 budget, is amended by adding $5,746.00 to the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Fund No. 107- 233-750.01. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient administration of City affairs that the funded study may be completed by June 30, 1995, as required by the grant contract, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 15 day of k.J tL� , 199/5 ATTEST: A-, 9 79 Armando Chapa, City Secretary THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI MAYOR CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI APPROVED THIS THE DAY OF , 1995.
