AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION BY
KATHLEEN G. DAVIS, BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN
REFERENCE TO J. C. RUSSELL FARM BLOCKS, BLOCK 9, BEING 28.79
ACRES OUT OF LOT 3, FROM "T -1C" MOBILE HOME SUBDIVISION
DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and
recommendations concerning the application of Kathleen G. Davis, for amendment to the zoning
map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, in accordance with proper notice to the public, a public hearing was held on
Wednesday, May 3, 1995, during a meeting of the Planning Commission and on Tuesday,
May 30, 1995, during a meeting of the City Council, in the Council Chambers at City Hall in the
City of Corpus Christi allowing all interested persons to appear and be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the hereinafter set forth amendment
would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of
Corpus Christi and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended
by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That J. C. Russell Farm Blocks, Block 9, being 28.79 acres out of Lot 3,
located south of Bates Drive, between S. Navigation Boulevard and the Airport Drainage Easement,
be changed from "T -1C" Mobile Home Subdivision District to "I-2" Light Industrial District, metes
and bounds attached as Exhibit A.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the
same is hereby amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed,
shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That, to the extent that the amendment to the Zoning Ordinance set forth
herein above represents a deviation from the Comprehensive Plan, the Comprehensive Plan is hereby
amended to conform to the Zoning Ordinance as amended herein.
SECTION 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.

SECTION 7. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 8. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the A) day of & , 1995.

which is recorded in Volume 28, Pages 58 and 59, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas;
BEGINNING at a point on the north line of Lot 5, John Industrial Subdivision, a map of which
is recorded in Volume 30, Page 1, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, for the southwest
corner of this tract from which corner a point on the west line of 100 foot wide Navigation
Boulevard bears west 299.40 feet, more or less;
THENCE leaving said north line of Lot 5, John Industrial Subdivision, north 877.01 feet, more
or less, to the northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE east 1,225.29 feet, more or less, to a point on the center line of a 40 foot wide drainage
easement as described in deed, Volume 212, Page 247, Deed Records, Nueces County, Texas,
for the northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE south with said center line 1,080.30 feet, more or less, for the southeast corner of this
tract;
THENCE west with the north line of Casa De Manana Unit 1, a map of which is recorded in
Volume 39, Pages 56 and 57, Nueces County, Texas, 756.49 feet, more or less, to a point on the
north line of Lot 4 of aforementioned John Industrial Subdivision, for the southerly west corner
of this tract;
THENCE North 51° 36' 25" West, with the north line of said Lot 4, 327.35 feet, more or less,
for an interior corner of this tract;
THENCE west, with the north line of Lots 4 and 5, of said John Industrial Subdivision, 212.23
feet, more or Tess, to the southwest corner of this tract and the POINT OF BEGINNING.

requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two

finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
