HomeMy WebLinkAbout022283 ORD - 07/25/1995AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $7,794,286 FOR COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDES 1) $6,005,286 FOR FY95 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROJECTS; 2) $200,000 FOR FY95 EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS (ESG) ACTIVITIES; AND 3) $1,580,000 FOR FY 95 HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS (HOME) PROGRAM FOR PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 16,1995; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated Seven Million Seven Hundred Ninety Four Thousand Two Hundred Eighty Six Dollars ($7,794,286) for Community Planning and Development Program projects/activities that includes 1) $6,005,286 for FY95 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects; 2) $200,000 for FY95 Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) activities; and 3) $1,580,000 for FY 95 Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) program for projects/activities approved by the City Council on May 16, 1995. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given hill force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is2assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 25 day of J (f, Q , 19(.
