AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 57, VEHICLES
FOR HIRE, SECTION 57-167 SUBSECTIONS (a), TO INCREASE THE
STREET USE FEE FOR LIMOUSINE AND SIGHTSEEING SERVICE TO
$200 EACH SIX MONTHS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That subsection (a) of Section 57-167 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Corpus Christi, is amended to hereafter read as follows:
(a) In addition to all other charges and payments, each person maintaining and operating
a limousine or sightseeing services as described herein shall pay to the city each six
(6) months the sum of : - - - ..- : ::.: .1 two hundred
dollars ($200.00) times the number of vehicles to be operated as identified in the
permit application for the expense of regulating the activities of such service as a
street use fee.
SECTION 2. Providing for an effective date of August 1, 1995.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
