AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $
18,140.00 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
FOR CLINICAL HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING
SERVICES DURING THE PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1, 1994 TO
AUGUST 31, 1995; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 022279,
WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 1995-96 BUDGET, BY ADDING
$18,140.00 TO THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS
FUND - HEALTH DEPARTMENT; ADDING ONE FULL-
TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION TO THE HEALTH
DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $ 18,140.00 from
the Texas Department of Health for clinical health and family planning services during the period
September 1, 1994 to August 31, 1995.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 022279, which adopted the FY 1995-96 budget, is
amended by adding $ 18, 140.00 to the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund - Health Department.
SECTION 3. That the number of full-time equivalents for the Health Department is
increased by one.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is ppssed and shall take effect upon first reading as an /

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
