AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE A USE PRIVILEGE AGREEMENT WITH I. GOLTZMAN &
SONS FOR THE RIGHT TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, AND MAINTAIN
AN 8' X 9' CANVAS AWNING AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF
CRAWDADDY'S RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 414 STARR STREET. THE
AWNING WILL BE INSTALLED WITHIN CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY;
ESTABLISHING A FEE OF $100.00; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute a Use
Privilege Agreement with I. Goltzman & Sons for the right to construct, operate, and maintain an
8' x 9' canvas awning at the front entrance of Crawdaddy's Restaurant located at 414 Starr Street.
The awning will be installed within City right-of-way; and establishing a fee of $100.00. A copy
of the Use Privilege Agreement is on file with the City Secretary.
SECTION 2. Specified conditions as part of Use Privilege Agreement include the
following:
1) Awning will have a minimum clearance of no less than 9 -feet to the lowest structural
member and a maximum height of 14 -feet.
2) Awning will extend 8 -feet from the face of the building into the existing 10 -foot
sidewalk and the entire structure will be designed to withstand 105 mile per hour
wind loads.
3) Awning will be bolted to the existing building and supported by a four column frame
with the two front columns to be aligned with the existing parking meters and utility
poles that are located 2 -feet from the back of curb.
4) All combustible materials used for the construction of such awning, shall be
protected with not less than one-hour fire resistance.
5) Awning and support columns will be removed and sidewalk repaired if the existing
business closes and a new business is not opened in that same location within one (1)
year.

SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
