AUTHORIZING THE CITY PURCHASING AGENT AND
BUYING SUPERVISOR TO PARTICIPATE IN
INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE
PURCHASING PROGRAMS WITH HOUSTON-GALVESTON
AREA COUNCIL IN PURCHASING ITEMS FOR THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi a Political Subdivision of Texas,
pursuant to the authority granted by Chapter 791 Govemment Code, V.T.C.A., as amended, desires
to participate in interlocal governmental cooperative purchasing programs of the Houston -Galveston
Area Council (H -GAC), on a voluntary basis when in the best interest of the City of Corpus Christi
and in the opinion that participation in these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers
through the anticipated savings to be realized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Houston -Galveston Area Council is hereby requested to include the
City of Corpus Christi's stated needs on the H-GAC's term contracts and scheduled purchases.
SECTION 2. That F.D. Glenn, Purchasing Agent and, Todd White, Buying Supervisor are
hereby authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in
connection with utilizing the H -GAC purchasing programs for and on behalf of the City of Corpus
Christi.
SECTION 3. That the City of Corpus Christi is hereby obligated to pay participation fees
and administrative fees established by the H -GAC.
