HomeMy WebLinkAbout022474 ORD - 01/23/1996AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE AMOUNT OF $145,201.00 FOR EXPANDED TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION, CONTROL, AND OUTREACH SERVICES DURING THE PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1,1995 TO AUGUST 31, 1996; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 022279, WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 1995-1996 BUDGET, BY ADDING $145,201.00 TO THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND - HEALTH DEPARTMENT; ADDING A PART-TIME EQUIVALENT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $145,201.00 from the Texas Department of Health for expanded tuberculosis prevention, control, and outreach services during the period September 1, 1995 to August 31, 1996. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 022279, which adopted the FY 1995-1996 budget, is amended by adding $145,201.00 to the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund - Health Department. SECTION 3. That the number of equivalents for the Health Department is increased by 0.80 (thirty-two (32) hours per week.) SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2.3_ day of�U Y1nX�Vcn , 1996.
