AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE
V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, BY
REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON WHITECAP BOULEVARD FROM 40
MPH TO 35 MPH FROM PARK ROAD 22 (50. PADRE ISLAND DRIVE) TO
A POINT 1,000 FEET WEST OF CRUISER STREET; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances, Section 53-254, Schedule
V, is hereby amended by:
Deleting the following section:
Whitecap Boulevard:
From Windward Drive to Isabella Court -- 40 MPH -- All times.
And in lieu thereof adding:
Whitecap Boulevard:
From Windward Drive to Park Road 22 (So. Padre Island Drive) -- 40 MPH -- All times.
From Park Road 22 (So. Padre Island Drive) to a point 1,000 -feet west of Cruiser Street --
35 MPH -- All times.
From a point 1,000 -feet west of Cruiser Street to Isabella Court -- 40 MPH -- All times.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. A violation of these speed limits may result in a citation being issued and a
fine being assessed.
