A RESOLUTION DEDICATING THAT PORTION OF THE CURRENT
RIGHT-OF-WAY OF SHORELINE BOULEVARD BOUNDED BY THE
EAST CURBLINE OF THE RELOCATED SHORELINE BOULEVARD,
PALO ALTO STREET, THE EXISTING EAST CURBLINE OF SHORELINE
BOULEVARD, AND PEOPLE'S STREET, FOR OUTDOOR PUBLIC
RECREATION PURPOSES IN PERPETUITY, SUBJECT TO THE
RELOCATION OF SHORELINE BOULEVARD AND CONSTRUCTION OF
THE GATEWAY PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution No. 022013 on August 4, 1994, which
authorized the Director of Park & Recreation to apply for a grant on behalf of Gateway Project; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 022013 obligated the City of Corpus Christi to dedicate
Gateway Project for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity upon receipt of grant funds
and completion of the proposed acquisition; and
WHEREAS, Texas Parks & Wildlife authorized a grant to the City of Corpus Christi for the
development of improvements to Gateway Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has today considered a number of interrelated items with
regard to the relocation of Shoreline Boulevard, the development of Gateway Project, the new
federal courthouse, and other related items;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That after careful consideration of all pertinent factors the City Council hereby
dedicates that portion of the current right-of-way of Shoreline Boulevard bounded by the east
curbline of the relocated Shoreline Boulevard, Palo Alto Street, the existing east curbline of
Shoreline Boulevard, and People's Street, for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity,
subject to the relocation of Shoreline Boulevard and construction of the Gateway Project.
