AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF CONVENIENCE
AND NECESSITY TO STAR CAB COMPANY, MR. TOMMIE ROY CAGE,
MR. JOE EMANUEL, OWNERS, FOR THE OPERATION OF A MAXIMUM
OF SIX TAXICABS WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR A FIVE-
YEAR PERIOD ; SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH ALL TERMS AND
CONDITIONS ESTABLISHED IN CHAPTER 57, ARTICLE II, TAXICABS, OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES.
WHEREAS, Star Cab Company has made application to renew its Certificate of Convenience
and Necessity pursuant to the requirements set out in Chapter 57 of the Code of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, Section 57-33 of the Code of Ordinances requires that the City Manager or his
designee make a determination of whether the public convenience and necessity will justify the
granting of additional taxicab service; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held pursuant to the requirements of Section 57-35 of the
Code of Ordinances to allow holders of taxicab certificates or other citizens to file any comments,
complaints or protests regarding the issuance of a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity to Star Cab
Company; and
WHEREAS, Star Cab Company has continued to serve the public need for convenience and
necessity of taxicab service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity is issued to Star Cab Company,
Mr. Tommie Roy Cage and Mr. Joe Emanuel, owners, for the operation of a maximum of six taxicabs
within the City of Corpus Christi for a five-year period effective immediately; subject to compliance
with all terms and conditions established in Chapter 57, Article 11, Taxicabs, of the code of ordinances.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
