HomeMy WebLinkAbout022544 ORD - 04/16/1996ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY'S CONTRIBUTION OF $150,000 FROM THE MUSEUM EXPANSION/BAYFRONT ARTS & SCIENCES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND NO. 263 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BUS TURNAROUND FACILITY AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi and the Regional Transportation authority have entered into an interlocal agreement under which the Regional Transportation Authority has agreed to contribute $150,000 toward the construction of a bus turnaround facility at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the Regional Transportation Authority's contribution of $150,000 from the Museum Expansion/Bayfront Arts & Sciences Capital Improvement Fund No. 263 for the construction of a bus turnaround facility at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ` day of ty l i 1 , 1996.
