WAIVING CERTAIN TIME CONSTRAINTS IN CHAPTER 33, ARTICLE
V. OUTDOOR MUSIC FESTIVALS -FOR A BANDS BY THE BAY UNITE
MUSIC FESTIVAL FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR THE MAYOR'S TASK
FORCE ON YOUTH VIOLENCE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Pier 99, Elmo's Boathouse, and the Blue Ghost Landing ("Businesses") have
approached the City of Corpus Christi Park and Recreation Department about holding a Bands by
the Bay Unite Music Festival as a fundraising event for the Mayor's Task Force on Youth Violence
on Memorial Day weekend, and in order to go forward with the festival the time frame in the
Outdoor Music Festival Ordinance must be waived; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the time deadlines set out in Section 33-89, Section 33-93 are hereby
waived.
SECTION 2: That any vendors will pay $200 per concession booth to the City.
SECTION 3: That Businesses will pay $1200 out of the gate fees to the Mayor's Task Force
on Youth Violence.
SECTION 4: If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a
court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof
be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 5: That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary
for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed anp�dI ^shah take effect

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension
of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that

the City Council.
