HomeMy WebLinkAbout022616 ORD - 06/25/1996AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS WITH CALALLEN ISD, CORPUS CHRISTI ISD, FLOUR BLUFF ISD, TULOSO-MIDWAY ISD, AND WEST OSO ISD, AND AN AGREEMENT WITH CORPUS CHRISTI ACADEMY - TO PROVIDE EACH HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY WITH ACCESS TO AN AUTOMATED LIBRARY SYSTEM ; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Interlocal Agreements with Calallen ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD, and West Oso ISD, and to execute an Agreement with Corpus Christi Academy. The City will provide each high school library with access to the automated library system ("System") purchased by the City. System access includes such software applications as cataloging, online public access, circulation, and inventory control. The City also agrees to provide each high school library with telecommunications equipment sufficient to provide dedicated access to the System. Maintenance costs will be shared by the City, the school districts, and Corpus Christi Academy based on number of user licenses. The Agreements are on file with the City Secretary. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2-o day of 1 R_ , 1996.
