APPROPRIATING S4,800,000 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED FUND
BALANCE OF THE COMBINED UTILITIES SYSTEM FUND TO USE AS
AN ADVANCE ON PRELIMINARY COSTS OF THE LAKE TEXANA
PIPELINE PROJECT, EXPECTED TO BE REIMBURSED FROM BONDS
ISSUED BY THE NUECES RIVER AUTHORITY AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $4,800,000 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund
Balance of the Combined Utilities System Fund to use as an advance for engineering services, legal
services, right of way acquisition, and related expenses to defray preliminary costs of the Lake
Texana Pipeline Project as recited in the "Contract For Payment of Necessary Preliminary Costs of
Water Pipeline Project to be Reimbursed from Bond Proceeds" negotiated between the City of
Corpus Christi, the Nueces River Authority, and the Port of Corpus Christi Authority of Nueces
County, Texas.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and to meet the grave emergency created by
severe drought to immediately make available new water supplies to Corpus Christi and its water
service area, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall tak5 effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /G day of

requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two

finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
