AUTHORIZING A $66,431.41 INCREASE IN THE CITY'S
PROJECT ESCROW ACCOUNT WITH THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO PAY FOR STORM
DRAINAGE RELOCATION COSTS AND DRAINAGE BOX
INSTALLATION COSTS, ALL RELATING TO
IMPROVEMENTS IN THE VICINITY OF HOLLY ROAD AND
GREENWOOD DRIVE IN CORPUS CHRISTI; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The city is paying for street and utility improvements along Holly Road between Ayers Street
and Everhart Road. These improvements are being made under a Texas Department of
Transportation ("TXDOT") contract.
It is appropriate for the city to pay for certain changes to these improvements. One change
order will pay the costs to relocate certain storm drainage systems. Another change order will pay
the cost to install a drainage box on Greenwood Drive near Holly Road. The new drainage box will
accommodate future property development in the area. To pay for these change orders, it is
necessary to increase the city's project escrow account by $66,431.41. With this increase,
contributions to the city project escrow account will total $3,135,255.70.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The city will increase its project escrow account with the TXDOT by
$66,431.41 to pay for storm drainage relocation costs and drainage box installation costs, all
relating to improvements in the vicinity of Holly Road and Greenwood Drive in Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as
an emergency measure this the /1) day of SptiY_/_Lt) , 1996.
