HomeMy WebLinkAbout022712 ORD - 10/08/1996AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97 BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO 022643 BY APPROPRIATING $200,000 FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN FUND NO. 103 TOURIST & CONVENTION FUND; AND DECREASING GENERAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS BY $537,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 022643, which adopted the Fiscal year 1996-97 budget, is hereby amended by appropriating $200,000 from the Unreserved Fund Balance in the Tourist & Convention Fund No. 103 to pay the annual contribution to Arts Museum of South Texas. SECTION 2. Due to the necessity to decrease expenditures in the General Fund, a total of $537,000 be decreased from said fund by lowering the appropriation in the following activities: Activity Description Amount 102-221-516.12 Fire Academy $ 256,000 102-262-518.21 Art Museum of South Texas 200,000 102-211-515.12 Police Academy 81,000 Total decrease in appropriations $ 537,000 SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and for municipal purposes, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that i ordinance slillssFd and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of Q , 1996.
