CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE CITY COUNCIL
PURSUANT TO THE CITY CHARTER, ARTICLE III, SECTION
1, OF BILL HENNINGS AS CITY MANAGER
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
The appointment by the City Council of Bill Hennings to the position of City Manager
effective September 24, 1996, pursuant to the Corpus Christi City Charter, Article III, Section 1, is
hereby confirmed, according to the terms and conditions specified herein, and he is also hereby
appointed by additional authority of this resolution. The City Manager's salary is hereby established
at $114,700 per annum. In addition, the City Manager is hereby authorized to be paid annually as
deferred compensation a sum equal to the maximum allowed by law, currently $7,500, and a
monthly car allowance of $450. The first official day of this appointment is September 24, 1996.
The City Manager shall also receive the other standard City and managerial group benefits. The City
will pay the cost of an annual comprehensive physical medical examination for the City Manager
each year, beginning in 1997, the results of which will be provided to the City Council. The
compensation provided herein shall be in effect until changed by resolution or motion of the City
Council.
