AMENDING THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY
AMENDING THE MASTER SANITARY SEWER PLAN FOR THE SOUTHERN
AREA OF THE CITY BY ADDING 154 ACRES TO SOUTHSIDE SERVICE
AREA 9; DELETING 122 ACRES FROM SOUTHSIDE SERVICE AREA 8;
DELETING 32 ACRES FROM SOUTHSIDE SERVICE AREA 10; INCREASING
THE ULTIMATE SERVICE CAPACITY OF LIFT STATION (LS) #39A FROM
3.5 MILLION GALLONS PER DAY (MGD) TO 5.0 MGD.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its report and
recommendations concerning adopting the Master Sanitary Sewer Plan For The Southern Area Of
The City as an element of the City of Corpus Christi Comprehensive Plan;
WHEREAS, in accordance with proper notice to the public, a public hearing was held on
Wednesday, September 18, 1996, during a meeting of the Planning Commission and on Tuesday,
October 8, 1996, during a meeting of the City Council, in the Council Chambers at City Hall in
the City of Corpus Christi allowing all interested persons to appear and be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the hereinafter set forth adoption would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus
Christi and its citizens.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is
amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby approved and adopted as a portion of the
Comprehensive Plan for the City of Corpus Christi the Master Sanitary Sewer Plan For The
Southern Area Of The City, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
for all purposes, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 3. That the Master Sanitary Sewer Plan For The Southern Area Of The City
hereby establishes the City of Corpus Christi's policies for growth and development for the area
described by said plan, a portion of the master and general plan of the City.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that
every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force

and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 6. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance, this
ordinance to become effective upon such publication.
