AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53 -TRAFFIC,
ARTICLE VIII - SCHEDULES, SECTION 53-251, SCHEDULE II -
ARTERIAL AND COLLECTOR THROUGH STREETS; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53 -Traffic,
Section 53-251, Schedule II, is hereby amended as follows:
Arterial Streets: A principal street of Al -A8 classification per the City's Urban Transportation
Plan which is continuous across a significant segment of the city and which is intended to connect
with through collector and neighborhood collector streets; curbside parking restricted; intended to
accommodate a speed limit of 35 MPH or higher, and a traffic volume in excess of 5,000 vehicles
per day.

Airline Road -- Ocean Drive to Rodd Field Road.

Collector Through Streets: A principal street of C1-C2 classification per the City's Urban
Transportation Plan which is semi -continuous across a smaller segment of the city, typically
connecting one or more subdivisions and crossing one or more arterials; curbside parking generally
permitted; and which is intended to accommodate a speed limit of 30-45 MPH, and a traffic volume
in excess of 1,500 vehicles per day but not greater than 20,000 vehicles per day.

SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. Use of the collector streets by delivery vehicles other than as a direct route
to or from a pick up or delivery, or violating a parking provision on a collector or arterial, or
violating any other prohibition of use of a collector or arterial street may result in a citation being
issued and a fine being assessed.
