HomeMy WebLinkAbout023210 ORD - 02/10/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $8,400 IN THE FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND NO. 162, RECEIVED FROM THE COASTAL BEND COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, AS A PASS-THROUGH GRANT FROM THE TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION, TO DEVELOP PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SOLID WASTE SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $8,400 in the Federal/State Grants Fund No. 162, received from the Coastal Bend Council of Governments, as a pass-through grant from the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, is appropriated to develop televised public service announcements to educate the public on illegal dumping, to encourage increased recycling, and promote greater participation in household hazardous waste collection events. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this.ordinance is pa edI_anId,r/s'hall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the MI h day of l { t)2CV LSC( , 1998.
