AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE A ONE YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH S.V. KYLES &
ASSOCIATES/EARTH WORKS PRODUCTIONS TO HOLD A REGGAE
MUSIC FESTIVAL AND RELATED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING NON-
EXCLUSIVE USE OF SIDEWALKS AND MEDIANS ON SHORELINE
BOULEVARD, NORTH OF IH37 BETWEEN RESACA AND PALO ALTO
STREETS, ON THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, FROM 6:00 A.M.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20 TO 6 A.M. WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 1998; AND,
INCLUDING EXCLUSIVE USE FROM 6 A.M. SATURDAY, MAY 23 TO 6
A.M. TUESDAY MAY 26, 1998 IN CONSIDERATION OF A PERMIT FEE
AND 4% OF THE GROSS RECEIPTS OR DIRECT CITY COSTS,
WHICHEVER IS GREATER; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute a one year
lease agreement with S.V. Kyles & Associates/Earth Works Productions to hold a Reggae Music
Festival and related activities including non-exclusive use of sidewalks and medians on Shoreline
Boulevard, north of I1137 between Resaca and Palo Alto Streets, on the Memorial Day Weekend,
from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20 to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 1998; and, including
exclusive use from 6:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23 to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday May 26, 1998 in consideration
of a permit fee and 4% of the gross receipts or direct city costs, whichever is greater. A copy of the
lease is on file with the City Secretary.
SECTION 2. Publication will be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
