HomeMy WebLinkAbout023271 ORD - 04/14/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,201,500 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES, IN FUND NO. 162, FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND, TO PURCHASE MOBILE DATA TERMINALS AND AUTOMATED VEHICLE LOCATION SYSTEM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That $1,201,500 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, is appropriated in Fund No. 162, Federal/State Grants Fund, for the purchase of mobile data terminals and automated vehicle location system. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, in meeting U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, reporting deadlines to secure grant funding, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /4f /J day of April, 1998.
