HomeMy WebLinkAbout023272 ORD - 04/14/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $242,800 FROM THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE OF CITY PROPERTY TO THE GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION IN THE NO. 220 STREETS CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR THE SHORELINE BLVD/IH-37 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 023174, WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 97-98 CAPITAL BUDGET, TO ADD $242,800 TO THE STREETS PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $242,800 from the proceeds of the sale of City property to the General Services Administration is appropriated in the No. 220 Streets Capital Projects Fund for the Shoreline Blvd/IH-37 intersection improvements; SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 023174, which adopted the FY 97-98 Capital Budget, is amended by adding $242,800 to the Streets Program; and SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the Pill h day of , 1998.
