HomeMy WebLinkAbout023286 ORD - 04/21/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $9,350 IN FUND NO. 162, FEDERAL/STATE GRANT FUND, FROM TWO TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION SUBGRANTS, TO FUND EXPENSES RELATED TO A CLG REGIONAL PRESERVATION WORKSHOP; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That $9,350 in Fund No. 162, Federal/State Grant Fund, which will be reimbursed through two Texas Historical Commission subgrants is appropriated for expenses related to Certified Local Government (CLG) Regional Preservation Workshop entitled "Turning Historical Preservation Visions into Tangible Results" that is scheduled for September 24 -26, 1998. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, in meeting Texas Historical Commission reporting deadlines to secure grant funding, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the )`k day of Apr . / 1998.
