AMENDING THE TRANSPORTATION PLAN AND THE SOUTHSIDE
AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY
DESIGNATING STONE HENGE STREET EXTENDED AS A C-1
COLLECTOR STREET WITH A 60 FOOT RIGHT-OF-WAY; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its report and
recommendations concerning adopting amendments to the Transportation Plan and Southside
Area Development Plan Transportation Element of the City of Corpus Christi's Comprehensive
Plan;
WHEREAS, with proper posted notices, the Parleand Recreation Advisory Committee held a
meeting on Wednesday, October 8, 1997, and the Transportation Advisory Committee held a
meeting on Monday, November 24, 1997, during which this amendment was discussed and all
interested persons were allowed to appear and be heard;
WHEREAS, with proper notice to the public, public hearings were held on Wednesdays, August
6, 1997 and December 10, 1997, during meetings of the Planning Commission; and on Tuesdays,
October 28, 1997, November 11, 1997, and April 14, 1998, during meetings of the City Council,
in the Council Chambers, at City Hall, in the City of Corpus Christi, during which this
amendment was discussed and all interested persons were allowed to appear and be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that these amendments to the Transportation Plan
and Southside Area Development Plan of the City of Corpus Christi's Comprehensive Plan will
best serve public health, necessity, and convenience and the general welfare of the City of
Corpus Christi and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Southside Area Development Plan's Southside Transportation Plan Map
(Figure 5) of the City of Corpus Christi's Comprehensive Plan is amended by designating Stone
Henge Street extended as a C-1 Collector Street with a 60 foot right-of-way. Stone Henge Street
is shown on the revised Southside Transportation Plan Map, Exhibit A to this ordinance, with
small crosses.
SECTION 2. That the Transportation Plan's Southside Transportation Plan Map
(Attachment A) of the City of Corpus Christi's Comprehensive Plan is amended by designating
Stone Henge Street extended as a C-1 Collector Street with a 60 foot right-of-way. Stone Henge
Street is shown on the revised Southside Transportation Plan Map, Exhibit B to this ordinance,
with small crosses.

SECTION 3. Except as changed by this ordinance, the City of Corpus Christi's Comprehensive
Plan, as previously amended from time to time, remains in full force and effect. The City of
Corpus Christi's Comprehensive Plan, including the Policy Statements, Area Development
Plans, Master Service Plans, and other plans, establish policies to regulate growth, development,
and aesthetics within the City and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
SECTION 4. That any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance is
expressly repealed by this ordinance.
SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court
of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that
every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full
force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 6. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi
as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.

Notice is hereby given in
accordance with the law that
the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi will conduct a
public hearing, Tuesday, April
14, 1998, during a Regular
Council Meeting which
commences at 2:00 p.m. in the
City Council Chambers, City
Hall, 1201 Leopard, to
consider amending the City's
Comprehensive Plan. The
proposed plan amendment
pertains to:

the Southside Area
Development Plan - generally
to add a collector road
designation to Stone Henge
Street and show it extending
from Brockhampton Street to
the proposed Spanish Wood
Drive.
