HomeMy WebLinkAbout023296 ORD - 04/28/1998ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $24,000 IN SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND TO SUPPORT THE POLICE DEPARTMENTS ROLE IN THE TEXAS COASTAL CORRIDOR INITIATIVE IN THE HOUSTON HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $24,000 from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy is appropriated in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund to support the Police Department's role in the Texas Coastal in the Texas Coastal Corridor Initiative in the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that t4is ordinance is. passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the t '! day of (to, , , 1998.
