AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPLY
FOR AND EXECUTE A $107,728 LANDSCAPE COST SHARING
AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR A LANDSCAPING AND
BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT ALONG PARK ROAD 22 STARTING AT
THE PADRE ISLAND MARLIN STATUE TO 2000 -FEET SOUTH OF
WHITECAP BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi City Council recognizes the importance of the aesthetic
quality of public thoroughfares in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Padre Island Home Owners Association requested the City to apply for
a a Texas Department of Transportation Landscape Cost -Sharing Agreement and is offering to
provide landscape design services as an in-kind match; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi can make additional beautification improvements
to Park Road 22 with grant monies from the State of Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to apply for and execute
a $107,728 Landscape Cost -Sharing Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for
a landscaping and beautification project along Park Road 22 starting at the Padre Island Marlin
Statue to 2000 -feet south of Whitecap Boulevard, with City, county, and private sources providing
in kind services and materials for a 100% match to the Landscape Cost -Sharing Agreement.
