HomeMy WebLinkAbout023298 ORD - 04/28/1998a AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $283,750 IN NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND, FROM TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION RIDER 17 FUNDING, FOR AIR QUALITY PLANNING ACTIVITIES IN NUECES AND SAN PATRICIO COUNTIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That $283,750 in No. 162 Federal/State Grant Fund, from Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission Rider 17 funding, is appropriated for air quality planning activities in Nueces and San Patricio Counties. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, in meeting Texas Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management reporting deadlines to secure grant funding, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this or finance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 11 day of dpi4 / , 1998.
