CLOSING, BUT NOT ABANDONING, A PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-
WAY OF COUNTY ROAD 69 AT EACH OF ITS INTERSECTIONS WITH
RIVERWAY DRIVE AND RIVER ROCK DRIVE, THAT PORTION AT
EACH INTERSECTION BEING A 5 -FOOT WIDE TRACT OF LAND
CONTAINING 560.31 SQUARE FEET OF LAND OUT OF A PORTION OF
COUNTY ROAD 69 (HAZEL BAZEMORE ROAD); ERECTING
BARRICADES AT EACH INTERSECTION TO PREVENT VEHICULAR
ACCESS THROUGH THE INTERSECTION; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there is a portion of the right-of-way of County Road 69 at each of its
intersections with Riverway Drive and River Rock Drive, that portion at each intersection being a
5 -foot wide tract of land containing 560.31 square feet of land out of a portion of County Road 69
(Hazel Bazemore Road) that the River Ridge Subdivision residents wish to have closed but not
abandoned.
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous to the City of
Corpus Christ to close, but not abandon, said right-of-way, subject to the provisions listed below;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. That a portion of the right-of-way of County Road 69 is closed, but not
abandoned, at each of its intersections with Riverway Drive and River Rock Drive, that portion being
a 5 -foot wide tract of land containing 560.31 square feet of land out of a portion of County Road 69
(Hazel Bazemore Road) as described in Exhibits A and B, attached and incorporated herein, subject
to the following:
1) That barricades shall be erected to prevent vehicular access.
2) That Riverside Hospital, Inc., pay for all costs associated with modifying and
closing County Road 69 intersections at Riverway Drive and at River Rock
Drive to deny vehicular access.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two

finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

BEING a 5 foot wide tract of land containing 0.013 Acres (560.31 Sq. Ft.) of
land out of a portion of the right-of-way of Hazel Bazemore Road (County Road
69) for the purpose of closing, but not abandoning, its intersection with
Riverway Drive, a portion of Lot 4, Block 01, Nueces River Irrigation Park, as
shown on map thereof recorded in Volume A, Page 55 of the Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas. This 0.013 Acre tract of land being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the westerly right-of-way/easement line of a 40 foot wide Irrigation
Canal as described in Volume 32, Page 536 of the Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas, said
point being S82°30'58"W a distance of 20.97' from a point where the southerly right-of-way line of
Riverway Drive meets the easterly right-of-way line of said County Road 69, as shown on Plat of
River Ridge recorded in Volume 51, Page 38 of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas;
THENCE S 10°00'00"W along said Irrigation Canal a distance of 7.07' to a point being the most
southerly corner of this tract;
THENCE N35°00'00"W through said County Road 69 a distance of 9.86' to a point;
THENCE N10°00'00"E continuing through said County Road 69 a distance of 101.50' to a point;
THENCE N55°00'00"E continuing through said County Road 69 a distance of 9.86' to a point on
the westerly right-of-way/easement line of said Irrigation Canal, being the most northerly comer of
this tract;
THENCE S 10°00'00"W along said Irrigation Canal a distance of 7.07' to a point;
THENCE S55°00'00"W through said County Road 69 a distance of 2.79' to a point;
THENCE S10°00'00"W continuing through said County Road 69 a distance of 97.36' to a point;
