CLOSING AND ABANDONING A 30,000 -SQUARE FOOT PORTION OF
RAMONA DRIVE UNDEVELOPED RIGHT-OF-WAY, BETWEEN
BLOOMINGTON STREET AND SKINNER STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY,
OUT OF THE LA PASCUA UNIT 2 SUBDIVISION SUBJECT TO
COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS, AND THE OWNER,
WEST OSO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, REPLATTING THE
PROPERTY WITHIN 180 DAYS AT ITS EXPENSE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there is a 30,000 -square foot portion of Ramona Drive undeveloped right-of-
way between Bloomington Street and Skinner Street right-of-way out of the La Pascua Unit 2
Subdivision, as recorded in Volume 13, page 50, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, that
the owner, West Oso Independent School District ("Owner"), wishes to have closed and abandoned;
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous to the City of
Corpus Christi to close and abandon said right-of-way for public use, subject to the provisions listed
below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a 30,000 -square foot portion of Ramona Drive undeveloped right-of-way
between Bloomington Street and Skinner Street right-of-way, out of the La Pascua Unit 2
Subdivision, as recorded in Volume 13, page 50, of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, is
closed and abandoned for public use, subject to Owner complying with the following specified
conditions as part of the closure:
1) That the Owner pay the fair market value of $11,385 for the 30,000 -square foot
portion of Ramona Drive right-of-way closed and abandoned.
2) That the Owner dedicate 4,700 -square feet of right-of-way , l0 -foot wide by 470 -foot
long, situated north of the currently improved Skinner Street right-of-way, for use as
street right-of-way and for other public purposes.
3) That the Owner must replat the property within 180 days at its expense. The City
Engineer may extend the time limit for an additional 180 days if extenuating
circumstances outside the Owner's control necessitate an extension.

SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that } ordinancepassed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
