APPROPRIATING $20,000, RECEIVED FROM RESPONDENTS TO TEXAS
NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
ADMINISTRATIVE ENFORCEMENT PROCEEDINGS, IN ACCOUNT NO.
162-221-802.01, TNRCC-SEP ACCOUNT, TO PURCHASE HAZARDOUS
MATERIAL INCIDENT RESPONSE EQUIPMENT; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. To the extent actual contributions are received from respondents to
TNRCC administrative enforcement proceedings, $20,000 is appropriated in Account No. 162-
221-802.01, TNRCC-SEP Account, for the purchase of hazardous material incident response
equipment.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary to
facilitate the purchase of hazardous material incident response equipment, which will afford
increased protection to residents during hazardous material incidents, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is pasd and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the .1-01 day of
1998.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
