HomeMy WebLinkAbout023381 ORD - 07/21/1998ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $522,839 FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE AND $307,161 OF EXCESS REVENUES IN THE NO. 138 GROUP LIFE AND HEALTH INSURANCE FUND; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 022993, WHICH ADOPTED THE FY97-98 BUDGET, BY ADDING $830,000 TO THE NO. 138 GROUP LIFE AND HEALTH INSURANCE FUND FOR HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS INCREASES AND ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR EMPLOYEE PAID VOLUNTARY BENEFITS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $522,839 from the Unreserved Fund Balance and $307,161 in excess revenues is appropriated in the No. 138 Group Life and Health Insurance Fund for health insurance premiums increases and additional costs for employee paid voluntary benefits. SECTION 2. That Ordinance #022993, which adopted the FY97-98 budget, is amended by adding $830,000 to the No. 138 Group Life and Health Insurance Fund. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that thig ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day o y , 1998.
