RESOLUTION
SUPPORTING THE RELOCATION OF POWER SYSTEM WORKLOADS FROM
KELLY AIR FORCE BASE TO CORPUS CHRISTI ARMY DEPOT
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
the activities and responsibilities of the Greater Corpus Christi Business Alliance are
devoted to the economic well being of our community, and
the local economy relies heavily on the maintenance and growth of area military
facilities, and
the power system workloads currently being done at Kelly Air Force Base are already
scheduled for relocation, and
locating the power system workload to the Corpus Christi Army Depot would reduce the
overall cost of moving the operation, as the test facility and test equipment are already in
place at CCAD, and
a move to CCAD would allow many more experienced workers from Kelly AFB to
transfer, thereby decreasing the costs of hiring and training a new workforce, and
retaining the workload in Texas would be an economic win for the whole state, and
the power system workloads require 469 direct labor personnel at a dollar value of
$78,223,000.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Greater Corpus Christi Business Alliance hereby
supports the relocation of the power system workloads currently at Kelly Air Force Base to the Corpus
Christi Anny Depot.
ADOPTED BY THE GREATER CORPUS CHRISTI BUSINESS ALLIANCE THE 28TH
