APPROPRIATING $1,087,434 FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE
IN THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, $935,885 FOR FIREFIGHTER
SALARIES AND BENEFITS; TRANSFERRING $151,549 FROM THE NO.
102 GENERAL FUND AND APPROPRIATING IT IN THE NO. 119
AMBULANCE FUND FOR AMBULANCE SALARIES AND BENEFITS;
AMENDING THE FY 98-99 BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO.
023387, TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS BY $1,087,434 IN THE NO.
102 GENERAL FUND AND BY $151,549 IN THE NO. 119 AMBULANCE
FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. That $1,087,434 is appropriated from the unreserved fund balance in the No.
102 General Fund, $935,885 for firefighter salaries and benefits.
SECTION 2. That $151,549 is transferred from the No. 102 General Fund and appropriated
in the No. 119 Ambulance Fund for ambulance salaries and benefits.
SECTION 3. That Ordinance No. 023387, which adopted the FY 98-99 budget, is amended
by adding $1,087,434 to the No. 102 General Fund and by adding $151,549 to the No. 119
Ambulance Fund.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at three regular meetings so that this 1o�rdinance is assed and shall take effect upon first reading

suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we,

introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council,
