HomeMy WebLinkAbout023480 ORD - 11/17/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE AMOUNT OF $87,979 IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND -HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION AND CONTROL AND EXPANDED OUTREACH SERVICES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a grant from the Texas Department of Health in the amount of $87,979 is appropriated in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund - Health Department, for tuberculosis prevention and control and expanded outreach services. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of city affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is ssed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the / 7{/11 day of 71 , 1998.
