HomeMy WebLinkAbout023503 ORD - 12/08/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $30,000 IN THE FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND NO. 162, RECEIVED FROM THE COASTAL BEND COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, AS A PASS-THROUGH GRANT FROM THE TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION, TO PURCHASE A STACKING CONVEYOR BELT SYSTEM TO USE IN THE CITY'S COMPOSTING PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $30,000 is appropriated in the Federal/State Grants Fund No. 162, received from the Coastal Bend Council of Governments, as a pass-through grant from the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, to purchase a stacking conveyor belt system to use in the City's composting program. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that t pprdinance i assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the to day of '/1L `nth, , 1998.
