HomeMy WebLinkAbout023507 ORD - 12/08/1998AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $112,266 IN THE FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND NO. 162, RECEIVED FROM THE COASTAL BEND COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, AS A PASS-THROUGH GRANT FROM THE TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION, TO DEVELOP COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMS FOR SOLID WASTE REDUCTION, COMPOSTING, AND RECYCLING EFFORTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $112,266 is appropriated in the Federal/State Grants Fund No. 162, received from the Coastal Bend Council of Governments, as a pass-through grant from the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, to develop a community awareness program informing the public of the City's waste reduction, composting, and recycling programs. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that is ordinance is_passed and'Ynshall ake effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the dayof , 1998.
