HomeMy WebLinkAbout023515 ORD - 12/15/1998ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING S716,217 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND TO PURCHASE COMPUTER AND RADIO EQUIPMENT TO COMPLEMENT THE MOBILE DATA TERMINALS/AUTOMATED VEHICLE LOCATION SYSTEM BEING INSTALLED, DIGITIZED RADIOS TO REPLACE ANALOG RADIOS, TECHNOLOGY TO EQUIP THE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS VAN, AND 10 NON -POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLES; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 579,580 FROM THE NO. 111 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AND APPROPRIATING IT IN THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND AS THE CITY'S GRANT MATCH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $716,217 is appropriated in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance to purchase computer and radio equipment to complement the Mobile Data Terminals/Automated Vehicle Location System being installed, digitized radios to replace analog radios, technology to equip the Mobile Communications Van, and 10 non -police package vehicles. SECTION 2. That $79,580 is transferred from the No. 111 Law Enforcement Trust Fund to and appropriated in the No. 162 Federal/State Grants Fund as the City's grant match. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance s passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /5111 day of JX recir b/A.J , 1998.
