AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE AN ADVANCE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT
OF 5995,700 FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING SERVICES AND
RECONSTRUCTION OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS AND UTILITY
RELOCATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MCARDLE ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 1 PROJECT.
WHEREAS, roadway improvements are necessary to provide safer traffic movement in the
high volume section of McArdle Road between Weber and Everhart; and
WHEREAS, the McArdle Road Improvements - Phase I project is part of the Metropolitan
Planning organization ("MPO") Transportation Improvement Program ("TIP") to obtain 80 percent
of the funding for design and construction costs; and
WHEREAS, an Advance Funding Agreement is needed for Texas Department of
Transportation ("TxDOT") to prepare the engineering documentation, let the construction contract,
and provide the construction inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute an Advance
Funding Agreement with Texas Department of Transportation for engineering services and
reconstruction of roadway improvements and utility relocations associated with the McArdle Road
Improvements - Phase 1 project.
