AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE A CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
WITH TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE AMOUNT
OF $155,687.50 FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING SERVICES AND
BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATED WITH CONCRETE BRIDGE
REHABILITATION: OCEAN DRIVE/CAYO DEL OSO BRIDGE
REPLACEMENT PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the existing Ocean Drive/Cayo Del Oso Bridge has been identified by the
Texas Department of Transportation ("TxDOT") as requiring improvements; and
WHEREAS, this rehabilitation project for the Ocean Drive/Cayo Del Oso Bridge (between
TAMU-CC and NAS) is part of the bi-annual TxDOT concrete bridges inspection for specific
observations of spalling, alignment, cracks, and corrosion of reinforcement; and
WHEREAS, a Construction and Maintenance Agreement is needed for Texas Department
of Transportation ("TxDOT") to prepare the engineering documentation, let the construction
contract, and provide the construction inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute a
Construction and Maintenance Agreement with Texas Department of Transportation for engineering
services and bridge construction associated with the Concrete Rehabilitation: Ocean Drive/Cayo Del
Oso Bridge Replacement Project.
