AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUND TO NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE
GRANTS FUND AND APPROPRIATING $14,175 IN NO. 1050
FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FOR A SUPPLEMENTAL
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT TO CLEAN UP OF LITTER ALONG THE
UPPER LAGUNA MADRE SHORELINE, OSO BAY SHORELINE, AND
ALONG OSO CREEK; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. That the transfer of $14,175 from No. 4010 Water Fund to No. 1050 Federal/State
Grants Fund is authorized, and $14,175 in No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund is appropriated for a
Supplemental Environmental Project to clean up of litter along the Upper Laguna Madre shoreline,
Oso Bay shoreline, and along Oso Creek, as provided in the Agreed Order between the City of
Corpus Christi and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission in Docket No.
1998 -1391 -PWS -E.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to
find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and
effective administration of City affairs, in meeting Texas Department of Public Safety Division of
Emergency Management reporting deadlines to secure grant funding, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this o dinance i .assed . • shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the 9' ay of 4.,, , 1999.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
