APPROPRIATING $16,780 IN THE NO. 1020 GENERAL FUND FROM
CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ON BEHALF OF
MARTIN AND CUNNINGHAM MIDDLE SCHOOLS TO THE CITY AS
SUBRECIPIENT OF A COMMUNITIES AND KIDS EXPERIENCING
SUCCESS (CAKES) GRANT TO PROVIDE TEEN RECREATION
PROGRAMS AT TWO MIDDLE SCHOOLS; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $16,780 is appropriated in the No. 1020 General Fund from Corpus
Christi Independent School District on behalf of Martin and Cunningham Middle Schools to the City
as subrecipient of a Communities And Kids Experiencing Success (CAKES) grant for the City to
provide teen recreation programs at two middle schools.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for inunediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so thatrdinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the �ay of , 1999.

suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: Uwe,

introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
