AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION
APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR THE STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
FOR FUNDS TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT A TRANSPORTATION
HISTORY MUSEUM AND CITY VISITOR CENTER IN THE HISTORIC
NUECES COUNTY COURTHOUSE BUILDING, AND AN EXPRESSION OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI'S COMMITMENT TO THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, a Texas home -rule municipal
corporation, ("City") pursuant to the authority granted by Chapter 791 Govemment Code, V.T.C.A.,
as amended, desires to submit a nomination application to the Texas Department of Transportation
for the Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program for funds to design and construct a
Transportation History Museum and City Visitor Center in the Historic Nueces County Courthouse
building; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi hereby expresses its commitment to the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to submit a nomination
application to the Texas Department of Transportation for the Statewide Transportation
Enhancement Program for funds to design and construct a Transportation History Museum and City
Visitor Center in the Historic Nueces County Courthouse building, and expressing the City of
Corpus Christi's commitment to the project, a copy of which is on file with the City Secretary.
