HomeMy WebLinkAbout023758 ORD - 09/14/1999ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $101,524 IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY TO SUPPORT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S ROLE IN THE TEXAS COASTAL CORRIDOR INITIATIVE IN THE HOUSTON HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $101,524 is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy to support the Police Department's role in the Texas Coastal Corridor Initiative in the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this,Iordinance is assed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the i `-day of 99.
